Hello again from the far north. I have been busy today getting ready to plant my tatties, I had forgotten what hard work it is especially when you have a large tree nearby with roots like triffyds!! I now have an aching back but not a single tattie is planted yet. It didn't help that Shula expects to be entertained with her ball as you try and dig and a chicken was practically on the end of the fork looking for worms! Anyway enough of my moans.

I wanted to tell you about a new site which I found today called www.safecosmetics.org Its all about a campaign for safe cosmetics free of chemicals. My interest was in the products made for babies which I think is an absolute minefield for parents. New advice to parents is that they really don't need the products that are regularly bought shampoo, lotions and powders have been linked to possible reproductive problems. It is suggested that if you use anything it should be phthalate free. However don't panic Dr Benjamin Brown a paediatrician from Seattle says a little more information is needed before deciding which way to jump and we need to stay tuned to the debate. Many parents use lotions and powders on their babies for cosmetic reasons rather than health. Most of the time there is no need babies smell nice anyway. Use plain water for bathing and a pure soap if you feel you need it. Most babies don't need lotions or creams unless they have a particularly dry skin. For nappy rashes look for an organic natural product. I can honestly say that I cannot recommend our spa Snow White soap highly enough it' brilliant for delicate skins so if you are in doubt about your soap try it. Well here I am telling you to avoid lotions and potions and then doing a hard sell but honestly I really believe in the products I sell and  the toiletries I have are all free from chemical additives. Anyway read all about it on the website and decide for yourselves.

I have just packaged a competition prize for a competition that was run by www.meetmums.co.uk so congratulations to Sarah Plusnin I hope she enjoys the clothes she has chosen. Anyway I'm off for a well deserved cuppa now so see you tomorrow.

Linda (Heck I just can't get the Snow White link to work!)
Wah hey update with a little help from my friends the link now works!!! Yippee!
