beautiful warm sunny morning and a wet miserable afternoon. We have found that you really have to try and enjoy the weather when it's there and today is certainly a case in point. Accordingly I took the dogs out this morning and we had a lovely walk. I have spent the afternoon so far baking oh the joys of working from home!
Did any body watch a programme on Beeb 3 last night about English kids working in an Indian sweatshop? It was really interesting, obviously a bit set up for us viewers but nevertheless I did feel that the young people involved had their eyes opened a bit to how the other half lives. There was one young man obviously intelligent and confident who could not understand why the people working in such awful conditions did not try to get educated and better themselves. As the programme went on he began to understand that not everybody in life has choices. One man he spoke to worked from 9 in the morning until 10 or 12 at night for a pittance. When was he going to be able to go to night school even if he could afford it? I wonder if it will change their lifestyles and clothes they buy when they come home? Next week they are going to be working on a cotton farm so I must try and watch. It is after all a subject close to my heart.
I said I would put a picture up on the blog of the Baby show so here it is I have just sent my press release off to the papers with this picture. I hate my photo taken I think I look awful!
