I'm sorry but I'm running out of original titles! So glad that some people are posting comments it's nice to know I'm not alone in this blog. Quite a bit of frost this morning and grey skies. I took the dogs up the river for a walk the water is incredibly low at the present and Shula had a paddle. Minnie finds it difficult to understand how any self respecting dog can enjoy having wet paws not to mention undercarriage.

I read rather a thought provoking article in the weekend paper that I thought you might be interested in if you haven't read it already. The author suggests idle parents=happy children. An unhealthy dose of the work ethic is threatening to wreck childhood. Years that should be devoted to play and joyful learning are being stifled by targets and tests. He further goes on to say that pushy parents don't help by making childhood a stress filled time of striving and competing.Days are crammed with activities making kids over stimulated and unable to organise their own entertainment. I can't help feeling that there is at least a grain of truth in what he says. I have observed that children can become quite selfish when they perceive themselves as the centre of the universe. Perhaps I'm not putting this well but they need to know that sometimes other people should come first. What do you think? Is this just a reactionary old granny talking? I would love to hear your views.

Looking foward to hearing from you,
Linda
