Sones was ‘conceived’ following the birth of our first grandchild ‘Jacob’.  

Having a newborn baby in the family made us think about his future which is inextricably linked to trying to safeguard our environment and leave less of a carbon footprint for future generations.

 I was working as a community nurse, my job was very demanding and I had been feeling increasingly exhausted. I was very much looking forward to my new role as Gran and wanted to be able to have more time with both baby and his parents.

We have enjoyed holidays in the Scottish highlands for many years. My son and his wife planned to move there in order to give their son the benefit of living in a beautiful and peaceful part of the country.  We also relocated to Scotland and now live a short distance away from them in tranquil surroundings with a spate river passing through our garden and mountains behind. We have an organic vegetable garden and keep our own chickens. It is from this special place that my business is based.
